Team Spirit Climbs to Top of CS2 Valve Regional Standings for September 2025

Posted : 02 September 2025

Team Spirit has surged to first place in the September 2025 Valve Regional Standings (VRS), overtaking Team Vitality and positioning themselves at the forefront of the Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) competitive scene. These standings will play a key role in determining invitations to upcoming CS2 tournaments, including the prestigious PGL Masters Bucharest 2025.

The shift in rankings comes after Team Spirit secured a tournament victory while Team Vitality was eliminated in the semi-finals, dropping the French organization to second place. This marks the first time Vitality has ceded the top spot in CS2’s VRS since March 2025.

Other teams have also seen significant movement in the rankings. Aurora Gaming has re-entered the top ten following their finals appearance at the Esports World Cup, while 3DMAX climbed from 13th to eighth after winning the Perfect World Challenge Series 1. MongolZ continues to strengthen its global presence, moving up from fourth to third after clinching the Esports World Cup in August.

Some teams experienced declines as well. Passion UA fell sharply from 20th to 33rd after being eliminated from DraculaN Season 1 without securing a win.

The September VRS will determine the 16 teams invited to compete at PGL Masters Bucharest 2025, scheduled from October 25 to November 2. The tournament offers a $1.25 million (~£933,759) prize pool and represents one of the final Tier 1 CS2 events before attention shifts to the StarLadder Budapest Major. Notably, the event will take place after the VRS cut-off for the StarLadder Major on October 5.
