Team Heretics and CGN Esports have unveiled a strategic partnership centered around their VALORANT teams. This collaboration will enable both organizations to train together and prepare for pivotal events, including Team Heretics’ campaign in the upcoming VCT EMEA season and CGN’s efforts to qualify for EMEA Ascension 2025.
The partnership also provides a unique opportunity for the two organizations to expand their regional presence, with Team Heretics aiming to make inroads into the DACH region, where CGN is based, while CGN seeks to leverage Team Heretics’ success as VALORANT Champions 2024 runners-up to grow its influence in Spain.
In addition to joint training, the partnership will bring a variety of fan-focused initiatives, such as watch parties, community tournaments, and collaborative content featuring players from both teams. Co-branded merchandise, including jerseys and collectibles, will be released as part of the collaboration.
Looking ahead to 2025, both organizations plan to host offline events in Spain and Germany, further strengthening their connection to their respective communities. Team Heretics’ VCT and LEC Team Director, Niklas Geiß, emphasized the shared vision of the partnership, which focuses on inspiring the next generation of esports fans through creativity, performance, and authentic engagement.
CGN Esports, established in 2020, currently competes in the VALORANT Challengers DACH league and narrowly missed promotion to VCT EMEA last year. The organization's COO, David Dick, highlighted the significance of collaborating with Team Heretics, calling it a dream realized and an opportunity to create meaningful fan experiences.
This partnership also aligns with Riot Games' Affiliate Partnerships program, which encourages collaborations between VCT International League teams and Challenger or Game Changers teams. Similar agreements have been formed by other VCT EMEA organizations, such as Fnatic, FUT Esports, and GIANTX.
