The four-day tournament will use a double-elimination bracket, with every match played as a best-of-three except the grand final, which will be a best-of-five.

The field features MOUZ, Vitality, FURIA, Natus Vincere, Aurora, magic, MIBR and NRG. MOUZ, Vitality, FURIA and NAVI received direct invitations, while Aurora and magic qualified through Europe and MIBR and NRG came through the South American and North American qualifying routes respectively.

MOUZ Enter as a Major Contender

MOUZ have a strong case heading into the tournament after reaching consecutive grand finals at recent events. Vitality remain one of the biggest threats despite a less consistent period following their outstanding start to 2026. The team won five consecutive tournaments earlier in the year and completed a second Grand Slam, before experiencing a downturn in results.

Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut remains a key factor. Recent statistics cited ahead of the tournament give the French superstar a 1.27 rating and 0.81 kills per round over the previous three months. Vitality begin against European qualifier magic. A victory would potentially set up a difficult second-round meeting with FURIA or MIBR, making their path to the final more demanding than MOUZ's projected route.

FURIA Face a Difficult Opening Test

FURIA are another team capable of challenging for the trophy, but their preparation comes with an important concern. The Brazilian side have travelled from China after competing at FISSURE Playground 3, leaving limited time to recover and prepare for Barcelona.

They open against fellow Brazilian side MIBR. FURIA have the stronger established Tier 1 record, but MIBR arrive with confidence after reaching the semifinals at FISSURE Playground 3. That makes the Brazilian derby one of the more intriguing opening matches.

A FURIA victory would likely put them on a collision course with Vitality in the upper bracket, creating one of the tournament's potential headline matchups.

NAVI and Aurora Could Shape the Bracket

Defending champions NAVI face Aurora in the opening round. The matchup is particularly difficult to call, with the two teams positioned closely in recent world rankings. One preview placed Aurora ninth and NAVI 10th, highlighting how little separates the teams on paper.

NAVI's experience in this competition could prove useful, but Aurora have the ability to make the defending champions work for progression. The winner will then enter the upper-bracket semifinal against the MOUZ-NRG winner.

Dark Horses: MIBR and Aurora

MIBR could be one of the teams capable of disrupting the expected tournament picture. Their recent semifinal appearance at FISSURE Playground 3 provides evidence that they can compete with stronger opposition, while their Brazilian derby against FURIA gives them an immediate opportunity to make an impression.

Aurora are another interesting outside contender. Their opening match against NAVI is effectively a test of whether they can translate their recent form into a deep run against established elite opposition.
