Riot Games Unveils TFT Pro Circuit with Set 15’s K.O. Coliseum Launch

Posted : 15 July 2025

Riot Games has officially announced the launch of the Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Pro Circuit, coinciding with the upcoming release of Set 15: K.O. Coliseum. This new Tier 1 competitive circuit will begin in August 2025, aiming to create a more consistent, rewarding, and viewer-friendly experience for TFT esports fans around the world.

The Pro Circuit will consist of three major events during the K.O. Coliseum set, starting with the first tournament on August 29, 2025. A total of 32 players will compete in the opening event, representing four global regions. Most of the roster—28 players—will qualify based on their performance during the Cyber City competitive season, while Riot will grant four additional spots to players with standout records and contributions to the TFT competitive scene.

Alongside the Pro Circuit announcement, Riot Games also shared details about the TFT Open, another major tournament set to take place at the Porte de Versailles venue in Paris, France. This event will welcome 768 participants, offering a rare opportunity for a large group of players to challenge the best tacticians from around the world.

“This is a defining moment in the history of competitive TFT,” said Michael Sherman, Director of TFT and 2XKO Esports at Riot Games. “With the debut of the Pro Circuit, updated Regional Finals, and a brand-new experimental tournament format, the K.O. Coliseum set signals the start of an exciting new chapter for TFT. The entire season will unfold against the dramatic backdrop of Whisker’s ultimate anime-style fighting tournament.”

The launch of the TFT Pro Circuit follows Riot’s March 2025 overhaul of the TFT esports structure, where the developer introduced a more defined Tier 1 circuit through Cyber City. That same ecosystem culminated in the Tactician’s Crown, held from July 11–13, where ZETA DIVISION’s Summertimer secured victory in the final Tactician’s Cup of the season. The global championship featured 40 players and offered a $470,000 (~£349,500) prize pool.

As Riot continues to evolve TFT’s competitive framework, the combination of elite global events and mass-participation tournaments like the TFT Open ensures that both professionals and rising stars will have more ways than ever to showcase their skills.
