Riot Games has officially revealed the League of Legends Asia Invitational 2025, a brand-new regional tournament scheduled to run from October 6 to 12. The competition will bring together teams from the LPL (China), LCK (Korea), and LCP (Pacific) that fell short of qualifying for this year’s World Championship in China.
According to the announcement shared on Weibo, the Asia Invitational will take place just one week before Worlds kicks off. The Grand Final is set for October 12, with the Play-In stage of the World Championship beginning two days later. The event will be streamed online, hosted in partnership with Huya, Douyu, and Bilibili.
The inaugural edition will feature eight teams battling for a prize pool of CNY 1.5 million (~£154,500). The competition begins with a group stage, played in a best-of-three single round-robin format. The top two teams from each group will progress to the knockout stage, which will be held from October 10 to 12 and conclude with a best-of-five final.
Team participation is already taking shape. From the LPL, Ninjas in Pyjamas and EDward Gaming have been confirmed, while GAM Esports and MGN Vikings will represent the LCP.
Nongshim RedForce will compete as one of the LCK’s representatives, with Dplus KIA, BNK FearX, or T1 also in contention depending on playoff results.
The tournament aims to provide a high-stakes platform for elite squads that narrowly missed Worlds qualification to showcase their skills on the international stage.
