Swiss sim racing hardware company Racing Unleashed has partnered with McLaren Racing to develop a next-generation motion simulator that promises to redefine virtual racing experiences. Announced through a press release, the simulator has been hailed as a major advancement in simulation technology, designed to deliver an unmatched level of realism for both casual sim racers and devoted McLaren Racing fans. It incorporates advanced motion dynamics to closely mimic the physical sensations of real-world driving.
Built at Racing Unleashed’s Maranello facility in Italy, the simulator boasts a carbon fibre chassis, an authentic McLaren Formula One replica steering wheel, and a Three Degrees of Freedom Motion (3DOF) system, which enhances the immersive quality of the racing experience.
The collaboration combines McLaren’s deep motorsport expertise with Racing Unleashed’s innovation in simulation hardware, a partnership that CTO Florian Hürlimann describes as merging "motorsport excellence and cutting-edge technology" to benefit users worldwide.
McLaren Racing, a veteran presence in both motorsport and esports since 2017, continues to expand its footprint in the virtual racing sphere. The launch follows the recent departure of F1 Esports champion Lucas Blakeley from the McLaren Shadow team.
Matt Dennington, Co-Chief Commercial Officer at McLaren, emphasized the project’s importance, stating that giving users a true-to-life simulation of driving McLaren cars is a thrilling milestone for the brand's engagement in the sim racing community.
