The latest edition of PGL Wallachia Season 7 has rewritten the books for the Dota 2 competitive circuit by delivering the highest total watch time in the series’ history. The tournament’s broadcast attracted an unprecedented 16 million hours watched, surpassing the previous record by over a million hours and demonstrating the event’s growing appeal to global esports audiences.
Held over nine days at the PGL Studios in Bucharest, Season 7 combined a Swiss‑system group stage with a double‑elimination playoff bracket, resulting in an extended schedule that clocked in at more than 112 hours of total airtime. This lengthy format helped drive impressive engagement across broadcasts as fans tuned in for both emerging storylines and high‑stakes playoff matches.
Team Liquid emerged as a standout in terms of viewer interest, leading both total watch time and peak concurrent viewership among all participating teams. Their matches consistently drew significant attention, highlighting the continuing influence of established organisations in maintaining audience engagement throughout the event.
Interestingly, despite setting a new record for total watch time, Season 7 recorded one of the lowest peak concurrent viewership figures in the series’ history, dipping below 300,000 live viewers. Organisers viewed this as a minor fluctuation, noting that overall engagement remained strong across multiple platforms and time zones.
With PGL Wallachia’s next season scheduled to resume on April 16, teams and fans alike will be looking ahead to further developments on the road to The International 2026 and beyond.
