Esports holding company NIP Group has entered a partnership with The9’s subsidiary, China Crown, to transform the upcoming video game MIR M into a competitive esports title. As part of the collaboration, NIP Group and China Crown will work together to create a commercialised tournament ecosystem for MIR M, aiming to build a strong market presence for the game, which has yet to be released.
MIR M is an updated version of the classic MMORPG MIR, developed following China Crown’s exclusive publishing license from Wemade in May 2024. China Crown, a subsidiary of The9, is known for publishing popular titles in China, such as World of Warcraft and MU Online.
With this new partnership, NIP Group plans to leverage its global esports expertise, event production capabilities, and extensive social media resources, alongside China Crown’s established player base, to promote MIR M as a competitive esports title.
NIP Group, formed through the 2023 merger of Ninjas in Pyjamas and the Chinese esports brand ESV5, has recently gone public with an IPO on NASDAQ. In September 2024, the company launched a game publishing division focused on esports-oriented titles and mini-games for mobile and social media platforms.
Mario Ho, Chairman and Co-CEO of NIP Group, expressed excitement about the partnership, emphasizing the potential to create an engaging and competitive esports experience that honors MIR’s legacy while expanding its possibilities for global play.
