G2 Esports Clinches 20th LEC Title After Five-Game Thriller Against Karmine Corp

G2 Esports emerged victorious in the LEC Versus Final after a gripping five-game series against Karmine Corp, held in front of a live crowd in Barcelona. The win not only secured another domestic championship for G2 but also guaranteed the team a spot at First Stand 2026 in Brazil.

 After an inconsistent regular season, G2 found momentum in the playoffs and carried it through to the final stage, capturing their 20th LEC title.

The finals featured intense competition, with both teams bringing strong performances to the stage. G2 entered the match following an undefeated playoff run, while Karmine Corp arrived with its own momentum, resulting in a full five-game showdown that kept fans engaged until the very end.

 Mid laner Rasmus ‘Caps’ Borregaard Winther played a crucial role throughout the series, earning his seventh Finals MVP award thanks to decisive plays and late-game control, particularly with Anivia in the final match.

The series began with Karmine Corp applying early pressure, but G2’s patience and strategic Baron pushes turned the first two games in their favor. With a 2-0 lead, G2 seemed poised for a clean sweep.

However, Karmine Corp capitalized on G2’s mistakes in the next two matches, claiming one game each and forcing a decisive fifth match.

The final game, lasting 46 minutes, saw G2 maintain control through strong crowd control and late-game damage composition. Strategic Baron plays, dragon stacking, and a backdoor executed by Sergen ‘BrokenBlade’ Çelik and Rudy ‘SkewMond’ Semaan sealed the championship for G2.

With this victory, G2 Esports will represent EMEA at First Stand 2026, while Karmine Corp turns its focus to the Spring Split for another shot at the finals.
