Brazilian esports organisation FURIA has maintained its lead in the global Valve Regional Standings (VRS) for January 2026, continuing the momentum they built in November 2025.
The VRS rankings are especially important, as they determine invitations to major Tier 1 Counter-Strike 2 events over the next four months.
The latest standings, released on January 5th, follow the conclusion of Fragadelphia’s Frag Miami 2 tournament, which was won by NRG.
As a result of strong performances at the event, both FURIA and GamerLegion secured invites to the opening stage of IEM Kraków, set to run from January 28th to February 8th.
January’s VRS will also play a crucial role in determining which teams participate in PGL Cluj-Napoca, ESL Pro League Season 23, and IEM Rio, although the organisers have yet to confirm all the teams that have accepted their invitations.
Team Vitality climbed to second place in the global standings following their victory at the StarLadder Budapest Major, while Team Falcons moved down to third.
FaZe Clan made a notable jump into the top ten after reaching the Grand Final in Budapest, and Ninjas in Pyjamas returned to the top 20 for the first time since October, boosted by a strong performance in the same event.
These shifts illustrate the competitive and dynamic nature of the CS2 scene as the new season gets underway.
FURIA’s continued dominance in the rankings highlights their consistency and readiness for the upcoming Tier 1 events, setting the stage for an exciting start to the 2026 CS2 competitive season.
