FURIA Breaks into CS2 Global Top 10 in July Valve Rankings After Strong Austin Major Showing

Posted : 08 July 2025

FURIA has made a significant leap in the July 2025 Valve Regional Standings (VRS), rising seven spots to break into the top 10 following its notable run at the BLAST.tv Austin Major. This climb places the Brazilian Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) team among the world’s elite as several major events loom on the horizon.

The updated VRS rankings will play a crucial role in determining team participation for upcoming tournaments, including the StarLadder StarSeries Fall 2025 and FISSURE Playground #2, both scheduled for September. While most tournament organizers have not yet confirmed which teams have accepted invitations, the latest rankings offer insight into the teams likely to be in contention.

June proved to be a standout month for FURIA. Entering the Austin Major at Stage 2, the team—led by veteran Gabriel ‘FalleN’ Toledo—fought through to the Playoffs, where they were eventually eliminated in the opening round by fellow Brazilian side paiN Gaming. Despite the early exit, their journey through the tournament earned them enough points to vault into the global top 10.

Meanwhile, GamerLegion, who previously held the ninth spot, dropped out of the top 10, landing in 11th. Other significant changes in the rankings include the Brazilian team Legacy, which soared from 49th to 21st after an impressive debut performance at the Major.

From Asia, Chinese side Lynn Vision Gaming also made headlines by climbing the ladder following a strong showing in Austin. Now ranked 18th, they have become the highest-ranked Chinese team, narrowly trailing Team Liquid, which fell from 14th to 17th over the past month.

At the top of the standings, Team Vitality continues to dominate the global CS2 scene, maintaining their position as the number one team in the world. Their victory at the Austin Major solidified their reputation and secured their lead going into the second half of 2025.

With tournament invites pending and the competition heating up, July’s VRS update has reshaped the CS2 competitive landscape, setting the stage for a thrilling few months ahead.
