Fluxo, NRG, and Legacy became the final teams to be eliminated from Stage 1 of the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025, bringing their Counter-Strike 2 campaigns to a close with a record of 2-3.
Fluxo Outlasted by FaZe
After a strong start with victories over Fnatic and GamerLegion, Brazilian squad Fluxo’s momentum faltered against FlyQuest and Ninjas in Pyjamas. This set up a decisive round five clash against FaZe Clan, who were fighting for survival in the tournament.
FaZe took the opening map on Inferno with a 13-6 win, but Fluxo responded on their pick, Nuke, winning 13-7 to even the series. The decider on Mirage initially saw Fluxo take an 8-4 half lead, putting them in a prime position to advance. However, FaZe’s resilience shone through, overturning the deficit to claim a 13-10 win and eliminate Fluxo from the Major.
NRG Falls to Imperial Esports
NRG, competing without Nicholas ‘nitr0’ Cannella and led by coach Damian ‘daps’ Steele, had a promising start with wins over Ninjas in Pyjamas and FaZe Clan. However, the team’s momentum stalled after a 2-1 loss to Fnatic in round four, setting up a crucial showdown with Imperial Esports.
The absence of a full-strength roster was evident, as Imperial dominated on Nuke and Train, securing 13-8 and 13-5 victories to sweep NRG 2-0 and claim the final Stage 2 spot.
Parivision Advances Over Legacy
The final Stage 1 decider featured Parivision against Legacy. Parivision opened the series on Ancient with a 13-9 win, only for Legacy to respond on Inferno with a 13-5 victory, forcing a Dust II decider.
Dust II was tightly contested, with Legacy leading 7-5 at halftime and pushing to a 13-11 lead. Parivision rallied with key plays from Dzhami ‘Jame’ Ali to force overtime, but the momentum remained with the European side. Parivision ultimately triumphed 19-16, securing the last Stage 2 berth.
