Evo has officially unveiled plans for its first South American event, with Evo Brazil 2027 scheduled to take place from March 26 to 28 at Expo Center Norte in São Paulo. The tournament will feature eight fighting games and a guaranteed minimum prize pool of R$1 million distributed across the competitions.
Competitor registration and spectator ticket sales opened on October 27, 2026. Players must pay R$50 to enter each game’s tournament, in addition to purchasing an event pass. Early-bird tickets are priced at R$180 for a single day and R$490 for access to all three days, with the initial pricing tier available until December 28.
Ticket prices will increase as the event approaches. According to the official Evo Brazil website, regular three-day passes will cost R$580, while the final ticket release will raise the price to R$690. Single-day tickets will eventually reach R$250 during the final sales phase.
The inaugural Brazilian edition will feature eight titles: Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game, FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves, Guilty Gear -Strive-, MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, Mortal Kombat 1, Street Fighter 6, TEKKEN 8 and THE KING OF FIGHTERS XV.
All eight competitions will use open-bracket formats, allowing registered players to compete regardless of their previous tournament results. Organisers have confirmed the overall prize pool but have yet to announce how the money will be divided among the individual games.
Beyond the main tournaments, attendees can expect a range of activities celebrating the fighting game community. These include an Evo Museum, an Artist Alley, cosplay showcases, an arcade area, official merchandise and community-organised side tournaments for games outside the main lineup.
The launch of ticket sales encountered a technical issue after some prices displayed on the official website were found to be incorrect. Evo Brazil temporarily paused sales before restoring them later that day after correcting the problem.
Organisers also said customers who purchased tickets before the correction would receive partial refunds to cover the difference in price. The disruption briefly affected the event's opening day but did not change the announced tournament dates or game lineup.
The Brazilian event forms part of Evo's wider international expansion under its owner, RTS. The organisation is adding new destinations, including Brazil, China, Mexico, Morocco, Saudi Arabia and Singapore, alongside established events in the United States, Japan and France.
Rafael Queiroz, Evo's head of Latin America and a former general manager of Team Liquid Brazil, is leading the organisation's regional expansion. The event also has commercial backing from Visa and PlayStation Tournaments, supporting Evo's efforts to reach more players and fans around the world.
Brazil already has a connection to Evo's history. São Paulo hosted the Versus: Evo South America events in 2008 and 2009, providing an established foundation for the tournament's return to the region. Evo general manager Rick Thiher said the new event would recognise the country's fighting game culture and give Brazilian players and fans an opportunity to participate in a major international competition on home soil.
With registration underway and the eight-game lineup confirmed, Evo Brazil 2027 is set to become a major addition to the global fighting game calendar when it arrives in São Paulo next March.
