ESL One Birmingham 2024 Dota 2 Tournament records slight viewership dip

Posted : 30 April 2024

ESL One Birmingham 2024, a prominent Dota 2 competition, recently concluded with a peak viewership of 328,345, marking a slight decrease compared to its last event in Birmingham back in 2019. Despite this, the tournament still managed to attract an average viewership of 146,560 over its nearly 80-hour duration, showing a decrease of around 10,000 viewers from 2019, as reported by Esports Charts.

This year's ESL One Birmingham event ranks as the seventh most-viewed ESL One Dota 2 event in history. While the 2019 edition garnered approximately 30,000 more peak viewers, recent ESL One events in Kuala Lumpur and Berlin recorded 338,239 and 507,620 peak viewers, respectively, with the Berlin event being a Dota 2 Valve Major.

Held in the Resorts World Arena, the grand final of ESL One Birmingham 2024 witnessed Saudi Arabian esports organization Team Falcons emerging victorious over Russian esports organization BetBoom. Despite facing early setbacks and being relegated to the lower bracket, Team Falcons secured impressive victories against Team Liquid, OG, and Tundra Esports to clinch the championship.

The grand final, garnering the highest peak viewership, also saw Team Falcons becoming the most-watched organization at the tournament, accumulating over 4.4 million hours watched, followed by BetBoom with 3.3 million hours.
