North American esports powerhouse ENVY has officially secured its place in the 2026 VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) after a commanding 3-1 victory over TSM in the VCT Ascension Americas 2025 Grand Final. The win marked a triumphant return for the storied organization, which re-entered the VALORANT scene earlier this year.
ENVY’s journey to the top was one of resilience and redemption. The organization, which originally competed in VALORANT between 2020 and 2022, was revived by Mike ‘Hastr0’ Rufail in early 2025.
The current roster was formed by former 100 Thieves player Hunter ‘inspire’ Schliner, who recognized the potential in a group of high-ranked players and streamers. Initially known as RANKERS, the team qualified for VALORANT Challengers and was later signed by ENVY ahead of the North American season in March.
Despite a shaky start in Stage 1, ENVY turned things around in spectacular fashion—winning Stage 2 and finishing second in Stage 3. Their strong performances carried over into Ascension, where they opened with a 2-0 sweep against 9z Team.
A 1-2 loss to TSM forced them into the lower bracket, but ENVY bounced back by defeating Stellae Gaming 2-1 to keep their campaign alive.
In the playoffs, ENVY displayed grit and precision, taking down Team Solid (2-1) before exacting revenge on TSM twice—once in the Upper Bracket Final (2-1) and again in the Grand Final. The championship match began tightly, with ENVY taking Abyss (13-11) and TSM responding on Sunset (13-11). However, ENVY dominated the next two maps—Bind (13-6) and Ascent (13-5)—to seal the title and clinch their promotion to the VCT.
Leading the charge was duelist prodigy Alex ‘canezerra’ Banyasz, who posted an impressive KDA of 77/65/26 and 167 ADR. Despite his stellar performance, both canezerra and teammate Ayan ‘ion2x’ Rastogi will be unable to join ENVY in VCT 2026 due to age restrictions. Canezerra will become eligible in March 2026, while ion2x must wait until 2027 to compete at the top level.
With their return to the VALORANT elite now confirmed, ENVY’s resurgence marks one of the most inspiring comeback stories in North American esports—setting the stage for an exciting 2026 season in the global circuit.
