Valve has revealed that Dota 2 will host a limited-time crossover event with Capcom’s Monster Hunter, allowing players to embark on in-game hunts, craft unique rewards, and collect new sets and pets over a three-month period.
The event features six Monster Hunter-themed hero armor sets, each with three craftable variations. Players can also obtain a Palico courier and a pet Poogie, both of which come with craftable costumes. The base version of each hero set is available for free to all Dota 2 players, and can be crafted after gathering the necessary materials through hero hunts. Progress can be tracked through the Hero Atlas, which also provides additional lore for each hero.
Additionally, the crossover introduces the Expedition Pack, bringing iconic Monster Hunter creatures into Dota 2. Players will face Rathalos as Dragon Knight and Bullfango as Beastmaster. The pack also includes a Monster Hunter music pack, seasonal sprays, and crafting materials. Pack owners can craft exclusive variants of Palico, Poogie, and hero sets, complete with unique ambient and immortal effects.
The crossover coincides with a busy esports schedule for Dota 2 in 2025. PGL Wallachia Season 6 runs from November 15 to 23 in Bucharest, Romania, featuring the top 16 teams competing for a $1 million (~£761,600) prize pool. Participating rosters include reigning champions BetBoom Team, Team Liquid, Tundra Esports, and Team Spirit, among others.
Following that, BLAST Slam V will take place from November 25 to December 7, offering a $1 million prize pool and a qualifying spot for Slam VI. Tundra Esports, a three-time BLAST Slam champion, is one of the highlighted teams. Finally, DreamLeague Season 27 is set to kick off on December 10, capping off a packed competitive calendar for the year.
