Collegiate Esports Commissioner’s Cup welcomes new partners for May Tournament

Posted : 16 April 2024

The Collegiate Esports Commissioner’s Cup (CECC), set to unfold this May at the Esports Stadium Arlington in Texas, has revealed its latest lineup of partners. State Farm, the U.S. Army 5th Brigade, Smoothie King, CTRL, Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau, Apple Music, and Zipchair Gaming are among the new additions, joining an extensive list of commercial supporters, including McDonald’s, for this collegiate esports extravaganza.

Organized by the Collegiate Sports Management Group (CSMG), the CECC stands as a premier collegiate esports tournament dubbed “May Madness,” mirroring the fervor of the iconic “March Madness” basketball playoffs.

Drawing champions from esports conferences nationwide, the event showcases 84 teams from 18 collegiate esports conferences, including the Big Esports Conference, National Esports Collegiate Conferences, and the Great Lakes Esports Conference, among others. Competitions will span popular titles like Overwatch 2, Rocket League, VALORANT, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

With McDonald’s leading the charge as the presenting sponsor, the CECC is poised for a dynamic showcase of esports talent. Beyond its involvement, other partners are set to enhance the event with giveaways and activations throughout the first weekend of May.

McDonald’s will kick off the festivities with a red carpet Jersey Ceremony, adorning each athlete with branded jerseys. These new partners join an already robust roster, featuring Dairy MAX, Dallas Cowboys, Lenovo, Cisco, Red Bull, PC Gamerz, Cirkul, Grand Canyon University, iSlide, and U.S. Army ROTC, all contributing to the CECC’s mission of fostering scholastic esports growth.
