The Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 esports season has officially wrapped up after a highly competitive campaign featuring the Call of Duty League and the Esports World Cup.
The 2026 Call of Duty League season began in December 2025, with 12 teams competing across four Majors before advancing toward the Championship Weekend. The competitive format included Hardpoint, Search and Destroy and the new Overload mode, while the league also introduced several changes to its tournament structure.
The CDL campaign concluded in Las Vegas from July 16–19, where FaZe Vegas captured the championship after defeating OpTic Texas 5–2 in the Grand Final. OpTic had been chasing a historic third consecutive CDL title but ultimately fell short.
Despite that disappointment, OpTic Gaming ended the Black Ops 7 competitive cycle on a high note at the 2026 Esports World Cup in Paris. The team defeated Team Heretics 5–3 in the Grand Final to successfully defend its Call of Duty EWC crown.
The EWC victory also highlighted the strength of OpTic's roster, with Huke delivering a decisive performance in the final. The tournament attracted more than 132,000 average viewers and peaked at approximately 271,800, setting a new peak-viewership record for the Call of Duty event at the Esports World Cup.
With the CDL Championship and EWC now complete, the Black Ops 7 era has provided a season filled with roster changes, new competition formats, international LAN events and memorable title battles.
