Tyson Fury Teases Trilogy Fight with Oleksandr Usyk at Wembley in 2026

Posted : 03 July 2025

Former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury has sparked speculation of a return to the ring after hinting at a third fight against Oleksandr Usyk in April 2026. The 36-year-old Brit retired from boxing earlier this year following a unanimous decision loss to Usyk in their rematch, but now appears to be eyeing a comeback with a trilogy bout at Wembley Stadium.

Fury posted a cryptic message on social media Thursday that read: “April 18 2026 Wembley Stadium. The trilogy!”—a clear nod to a potential final showdown with the Ukrainian champion. His co-promoters, Queensberry Promotions, confirmed to BBC Sport that discussions are ongoing with Fury’s camp and Riyadh Season, the major Saudi Arabian cultural and sporting initiative.

Saudi boxing figurehead Turki Alalshikh also fueled speculation, stating on X that Fury had committed to returning during Riyadh Season in 2026. “The ‘Gypsy King’ will be back,” Alalshikh declared. “I talked with him, and I have his word… We have a rabbit to hunt”—a reference to Fury’s nickname for Usyk during their previous build-ups.

Usyk won both of their title clashes in Saudi Arabia, claiming the first bout via split decision in May 2024 and winning the rematch to become the undisputed four-belt heavyweight champion. However, any trilogy plans may hinge on the outcome of Usyk’s upcoming title defense against Britain’s Daniel Dubois, scheduled for July 19 at Wembley. If victorious, Usyk would become a two-time undisputed champion—potentially setting the stage for one of boxing’s most anticipated trilogies.
