Tyson Fury has revealed that a major announcement involving UFC president Dana White and Zuffa Boxing is on the horizon, adding further intrigue to ongoing discussions about his future in the sport. The former heavyweight world champion made the comments while attending a UFC event in the United States, where he appeared as a special guest during celebrations marking America’s 250th independence anniversary.
During an interview, Fury stopped short of confirming details but suggested that White would take the lead in revealing the news. He described the development as significant, sparking speculation about a possible new promotional direction or involvement in his long-discussed bout with Anthony Joshua.
When asked directly about a potential collaboration with White for the long-awaited all-British showdown against Joshua, Fury indicated there was a strong possibility. He suggested that White could play a key role in promoting the fight, which has been repeatedly targeted for late 2026 but has yet to be officially confirmed.
The proposed collaboration comes despite ongoing tension between rival promoters, with Fury and Joshua’s respective camps previously dismissing claims that White would take control of the fight’s promotion. However, Fury’s latest comments have revived interest in the idea.
Zuffa Boxing, backed by Saudi investment and led by Dana White, has been attempting to expand its influence in boxing and position itself as a competitor to established promotional companies. The organisation has already made waves by signing several notable fighters, including British welterweight Conor Benn and IBF cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia.
A potential signing of Fury would represent its most high-profile acquisition to date, dramatically increasing its presence in the heavyweight division and global boxing market.
Fury, who has held the heavyweight title on multiple occasions and boasts a record of 35 wins, two defeats, and one draw, has previously come out of retirement and returned to the ring with a victory earlier this year. He has indicated that he may take another fight in the near future as preparation for a potential clash with Joshua.
Before any heavyweight super-fight can take place, however, both Fury and Joshua must complete scheduled bouts later this year, keeping fans waiting for one of boxing’s most anticipated matchups to finally materialise.
