Katie Taylor Retires as Three-Time Undisputed Champion After Croke Park Farewell

Irish boxing legend Katie Taylor ended her remarkable career with a unanimous points victory over France’s Flora Pili at a packed Croke Park in Dublin.

The 40-year-old retained her WBA, IBF and WBO super-lightweight titles while adding the vacant WBC belt to become an undisputed champion for the third time.

Taylor controlled most of the 10-round contest with her speed, movement and accuracy, although the previously unbeaten Pili mounted a strong challenge in the seventh round. The Irishwoman regained control in the later stages and secured a comprehensive decision, with the judges scoring the fight 100-90, 100-90 and 98-91.

The emotional farewell capped a groundbreaking career that included Olympic lightweight gold at London 2012 and world titles in two divisions.

Taylor finishes professional boxing with a 26-1 record and leaves the sport as a three-time undisputed champion after inspiring the growth of women's boxing in Ireland and around the world.
