Jake Paul Announces Boxing Comeback for Christmas Eve Fight in Dubai

Posted : 29 October 2026

Jake Paul will return to professional boxing on December 24, 2026, when he headlines a fight card in Dubai, marking his first appearance in the ring since suffering a knockout defeat to Anthony Joshua last year. The American influencer-turned-boxer has yet to confirm his opponent for the highly anticipated comeback bout.

The 29-year-old has been out of action since his heavyweight clash with Joshua in Miami on December 19, 2025. The British former world champion stopped Paul in the sixth round, leaving him with fractures in his jaw that required multiple surgeries and the insertion of titanium plates.

The injury raised serious questions about Paul's boxing future, with the American admitting in May that his career could be in doubt. However, he has now confirmed his intention to return, insisting that the setback has not weakened his confidence or ambition.

Paul said he remained determined to challenge expectations and take on opponents many people never imagined he would face. He added that he was more motivated than ever and eager to begin the next chapter of his career in Dubai.

His promotional company, Most Valuable Promotions (MVP), is working to secure a suitable opponent for the December event. Nakisa Bidarian, the company's co-founder and chief executive, said further details would be announced in the coming weeks.

Former UFC fighter Darren Till is among the names previously linked to a potential fight with Paul. Till, 33, made his professional boxing debut in 2025 against Luke Rockhold before continuing his combat sports career in bare-knuckle boxing. However, no opponent has officially been confirmed for Paul's return.

Paul enters the comeback fight with a professional boxing record of 12 victories and two defeats. His losses have come against Tommy Fury and Joshua, while his victories include high-profile bouts against former UFC fighters and former world boxing champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

In July 2025, Paul entered the World Boxing Association's cruiserweight rankings after defeating Chavez Jr. However, he lost that ranking following his defeat to Joshua in December.

The Dubai event will mark Paul's first professional boxing appearance in the United Arab Emirates. With his opponent still undecided, attention will now turn to who agrees to face the American as he attempts to rebuild his career following the damaging defeat to Joshua.
