The organisers of the Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo Peace and Unity World Wrestling Championship have scheduled the competition for December 13, promising a gathering of world-class wrestlers.
Lokoja, the capital of Kogi State, is set to come alive on that date as renowned wrestlers from across the globe converge for a wrestling extravaganza in honour of the state governor.
The championship, sanctioned by the Allied Independent Wrestling Federation (AIWF) with its headquarters in Mount Airy, North Carolina, United States, will take place at the Mohammed Buhari Event Centre in Lokoja.
The headline bout will feature local star Attai Mohammed, popularly known as Aliking “De Action Disaster” and the current African Top Class Stars (ATWS) middleweight champion, facing French contender Heddi Karaoui for the vacant AIWF World Middleweight Title.
Other notable matches include Nigeria’s Flying Danko versus Hulk Power of Benin Republic, and PWA Light Heavyweight Champion Mr. Sharpman taking on Gabon’s Kingoba Ture. In the women’s bout, Lady Marvellous Nathy of Togo will face Nigeria’s Lady Jena Swift in a fight billed as the “Clash of the Ladies.”
Promoter Olusesan Olukoya, who is also Secretary General of Pro-Wrestling Africa, stated that Pro Wrestling Afrik Promotions Ltd is committed to organizing the best wrestling championship in Kogi State. He highlighted that the event recognises Governor Ododo’s achievements in infrastructure, youth empowerment, job creation, and sports development. Olukoya added that the promotion carefully selected wrestlers to ensure fans enjoy top-quality entertainment and modern wrestling styles.
