Tyson Fury Claims Anthony Joshua Fight Is Off, Calls for Oleksandr Usyk Trilogy

Tyson Fury has claimed his long-awaited all-British heavyweight showdown with Anthony Joshua is off and has turned his attention to a potential trilogy fight against Oleksandr Usyk. Fury made the declaration in a social-media video, accusing Joshua of backing away from their proposed November meeting and telling Usyk he wants to fight him again.

The Fury-Joshua fight has been surrounded by uncertainty over its venue, despite reports that both camps had agreed to a November contest. Madison Square Garden in New York had emerged as the preferred location for organisers, while Joshua's camp has pushed for the fight to take place in the United Kingdom, with Wembley Stadium among the options.

Fury, who has already lost twice to Usyk, challenged the Ukrainian to meet him for a third time in November. He praised Usyk for winning their previous encounters but insisted the decision over another fight was now in the former undisputed champion's hands.

The latest development has added another twist to negotiations that have dragged on for months. However, Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn has previously insisted that the fight is contractually agreed and disputed Fury's suggestions that his fighter was pulling out, meaning the proposed blockbuster could still be revived.

Fury and Usyk have already shared two heavyweight title fights, with Usyk winning both bouts in 2024. Fury is now attempting to secure a third meeting, although reports indicate Usyk's future plans may complicate an immediate November trilogy.
