Detty December Fest Rescheduled as Lagos Fight Night Moves to December 21

The organisers of the Detty December Fest have announced a change to the date and structure of their highly anticipated fight night in Ilubirin, Lagos. The event will now take place on December 21, 2025, instead of the previously planned December 19.

The revised schedule comes with notable adjustments to the fight card, headlined by Lawrence Okolie, whose heavyweight clash with Ebeneezer Tetteh has sparked widespread discussion within boxing circles. Billy Nelson, trainer of former IBF heavyweight title challenger Martin Bakole, described the matchup as “shocking” following its official announcement.

Adding further intrigue, Olympic gold medalist Tony Yoka has been drafted in as a late replacement for David Adeleye and will face Patrick Korte in the co-main event. Yoka’s inclusion on short notice has shifted attention beyond the main event, enhancing the overall appeal of the card.
