Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury Confirmed for December 11 Fight in Cardiff

Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury will finally meet in a highly anticipated all-British heavyweight clash at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium on December 11, with the fight set to stream globally on Netflix.

The bout has been discussed for more than a decade, but the two former heavyweight champions have never faced each other professionally. The official announcement confirms Cardiff as the venue after London and New York had previously been considered during negotiations.

Joshua and Fury are scheduled to appear together at a press conference in London on September 30 as preparations for the fight begin. Organisers are reportedly considering a late start in the UK to accommodate viewers in the United States.

The event will be promoted through a collaboration involving Turki Alalshikh’s The Ring and UFC chief Dana White. Alalshikh described the matchup as a meeting between two of the leading heavyweights of their generation, while White highlighted their combined 66 victories, 52 knockouts and multiple world titles.

Joshua, 36, has welcomed the announcement, posting on social media that he is “inspiring a generation.” Fury, meanwhile, had not publicly commented at the time of the announcement. The fight will be streamed live worldwide on Netflix at no additional cost to subscribers.

The Cardiff venue has previously hosted major boxing events, including Joe Calzaghe’s 2007 victory over Mikkel Kessler. Joshua has also fought at the stadium, which was previously known as the Millennium Stadium, making the December contest another major heavyweight event for the Welsh capital.
