Air Warriors secured a hard-fought 57-41 victory over Plateau Rocks at the ongoing Zenith Bank Women's Basketball League in Jos.
The second phase of the Savannah Conference, held at the indoor sports hall of the National Sports Commission in Rayfield, witnessed an entertaining encounter between the two sides. Both teams started strongly, with the first quarter ending in a 14-14 tie. In the second quarter, the Warriors edged the Rocks by one point, 13-12, taking a 27-26 lead into halftime.
The Rocks fought back in the third quarter, winning 13-11, but the Warriors’ defensive tactics and strategic play dominated the fourth quarter, outscoring Plateau Rocks 18-2 to seal the 57-41 victory.
Other results from day two included Nigeria Customs defeating Titans 59-56, while Royal Aces overwhelmed Ham Warriors 83-55. Plateau Rocks will face Ham Warriors tomorrow at 2 p.m., as both teams seek their first win in the ongoing tournament.
