The San Antonio Spurs delivered a strong response in the NBA Western Conference Finals, defeating the Oklahoma City Thunder 103-82 at home to level the series at 2-2.
Victor Wembanyama led the charge for the Spurs with a standout all-round performance, finishing with 33 points, eight rebounds, five assists, three blocks, and two steals.
The French star, who had openly criticised his display in the previous game, said the team simply executed their game plan better, stressing that the series is still far from decided.
San Antonio started strongly, building a 15-point lead early in the contest. Although the Thunder briefly reduced the gap to five points late in the second quarter, the Spurs closed the half with a decisive 7-0 run, capped by a deep mid-court three-pointer from Wembanyama.
Defensively, the Spurs were dominant, limiting Oklahoma City to just 38 first-half points — the Thunder’s lowest scoring half of the season. The reigning NBA champions also recorded their lowest playoff total since 2020.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Thunder with 19 points but was rested for the entire fourth quarter as the game slipped away, with no other Oklahoma City player reaching double figures beyond 12 points.
With the outcome effectively decided early, San Antonio controlled the tempo to seal a convincing victory and regain momentum in the series.
Game five will take place in Oklahoma City on Tuesday, with game six returning to San Antonio later in the week. In the Eastern Conference, the New York Knicks lead the Cleveland Cavaliers 3-0 and are one win away from reaching the NBA Finals.
