Warriors Star Stephen Curry Ruled Out for 10 More Days With Persistent Knee Injury

Posted : 12 March 2026

The Golden State Warriors have confirmed that star guard Stephen Curry will remain sidelined for at least another 10 days due to an ongoing right knee problem. The team announced the update on Wednesday after a medical review of Curry’s condition, extending his absence by at least five additional games.

Curry has already missed 15 straight games while dealing with patellofemoral pain syndrome—commonly known as “runner’s knee”—a condition that causes discomfort and swelling around the kneecap. The injury has kept the Warriors without their leading scorer since late January, forcing the team to adjust during a crucial stretch of the season.

Encouragingly for Golden State, Curry has recently progressed to individual on-court workouts as part of his rehabilitation. The two-time NBA Most Valuable Player is expected to increase the intensity of those sessions in the coming days as he works toward a return. Team sources indicate that the veteran guard remains determined to rejoin the lineup in time to help the Warriors push for a postseason spot.

However, Curry himself has described the injury as unpredictable. The issue first appeared during an individual workout in Minneapolis in January, and the recovery process has included setbacks that delayed his anticipated return after the All-Star break. The Warriors’ medical staff has therefore taken a cautious approach to his rehabilitation.

Golden State has struggled during Curry’s absence, losing three consecutive games and slipping to ninth place in the Western Conference with a 32-33 record. Their current position leaves them on track for a play-in tournament clash, with their playoff hopes hinging on a strong finish to the regular season.

The 37-year-old guard will miss upcoming matchups against the Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks, Washington Wizards, Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons while he continues his recovery.
