Warriors end Mavericks' winning streak, Andrew Wiggins leads charge in 104-100 victory

Posted : 03 April 2024

The Golden State Warriors secured a 104-100 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night, breaking the Mavericks' seven-game winning streak despite Luka Doncic's impressive performance. Doncic, leading the NBA in scoring, recorded his 20th triple-double of the season with 30 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 assists, showcasing his dominance on the court. His stellar performance places him behind only Domantas Sabonis and Nikola Jokic in triple-doubles this season, underscoring his impact on the game.

Despite Stephen Curry's subdued shooting night, the Warriors showcased their depth with six players scoring in double digits. Andrew Wiggins led the charge with 23 points, supported by contributions from Klay Thompson, Chris Paul, Curry, and Moses Moody. Draymond Green's clutch plays down the stretch, including a crucial block and a key layup, proved pivotal in securing the Warriors' victory.

The game saw momentum swings, with the Warriors initially trailing before taking control in the second quarter, only for the Mavericks to mount a comeback and tie the game at halftime. Despite the Mavericks' resilience, the Warriors managed to maintain their composure and secure the win, closing out the game with late free throws from Thompson.

With this win, the Warriors improved to 41-34 in the Western Conference, maintaining their position at No. 10, while the Mavericks (45-30) remain fifth in the standings. Both teams look ahead to their upcoming matchups, with the Mavericks set to host the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday, and the Warriors gearing up to face the Houston Rockets, with forward Jonathan Kuminga expected to return after missing four consecutive games due to a knee injury.
