Tyler Herro Looks Ahead to Fresh Start with Bucks After Bam Adebayo Incident

Milwaukee Bucks guard Tyler Herro says he is putting a recent altercation with former Miami Heat teammate Bam Adebayo behind him as he prepares for a new chapter with his hometown team. Speaking publicly after reports of the incident surfaced, Herro said his attention is firmly on helping the Bucks build a successful future following the blockbuster trade that brought him to Milwaukee.

Herro described his return to Milwaukee as a special opportunity, explaining that representing his hometown has long been a personal goal. The former NBA Sixth Man of the Year said he is motivated to contribute to the franchise as it begins a new era after trading away Giannis Antetokounmpo, adding that his focus is on winning rather than dwelling on recent events.

The comments came days after reports revealed that Herro and Adebayo were involved in a physical confrontation at a Las Vegas hotel during NBA Summer League activities. According to multiple reports, the disagreement stemmed from criticism of Adebayo that Herro allegedly made on social media following their separation after seven seasons as teammates in Miami. The exchange escalated into a brief physical altercation before others intervened.

Reports indicate that Adebayo confronted Herro over the online remarks, which questioned the center's value and contract. Witnesses said the confrontation became physical, but Herro did not retaliate and the two players left the venue without further incident. Neither the Heat nor the Bucks publicly commented on the matter beyond acknowledging awareness of the reports.

Despite the incident, Herro insisted there are no hard feelings toward the Heat organization. He spoke positively about his former coaches, teammates and front office, describing his move to Milwaukee as an opportunity for both sides to make a fresh start after spending seven seasons together in Miami.

Now expected to play a leading role for the Bucks, Herro is determined to move forward and focus on basketball. With training camp approaching, the 2025 All-Star says his priority is helping Milwaukee remain a contender while embracing the chance to represent the city where he grew up.
