Trail Blazers End Thunder’s Perfect Start with Stunning Comeback Victory

The Portland Trail Blazers mounted a remarkable comeback to defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder 121-119, ending the Thunder’s unbeaten start to the new NBA season. Oklahoma City, who had opened the campaign with eight consecutive victories, saw their perfect run snapped after Portland overturned a 22-point deficit in a thrilling finish.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander once again led the Thunder’s offense, scoring a game-high 35 points. The reigning MVP extended his incredible run of scoring 20 or more points to 81 straight games—the third-longest streak in NBA history. Despite his efforts, the Thunder couldn’t hold off Portland’s late surge.

Elsewhere in the league, Luka Dončić came out on top in a high-profile duel against Victor Wembanyama as the Los Angeles Lakers edged the San Antonio Spurs 118-116. Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets became the final team to secure their first win of the season, defeating the short-handed Indiana Pacers 112-103.

Nikola Jokić continued his dominant form, recording another triple-double to guide the Denver Nuggets past the Miami Heat 122-112. The New York Knicks also impressed, producing a massive 83-point second half to power past the Minnesota Timberwolves 137-114.
