Thunder, Nuggets, Spurs, Suns Win Key NBA Games; Mavericks, Grizzlies, Trail Blazers, Clippers Fall

Posted : 09 April 2026

The Denver Nuggets overcame the Memphis Grizzlies 136‑119, marking their 10th consecutive win and solidifying their position in the Western Conference. Nikola Jokic recorded a triple-double with 14 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists, while Jamal Murray added 26 points.

Denver turned the game around in a dominant third quarter, erasing a halftime deficit. Despite Cedric Coward’s 27 points and Jonas Valanciunas’ milestone 1,000th game, the Grizzlies could not maintain their early advantage.

The San Antonio Spurs secured a 112‑101 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers, clinching the No. 2 seed in the West even without stars Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle. De’Aaron Fox led San Antonio with 25 points, supported by a 48‑point contribution from the bench.

Portland’s Deni Avdija scored 29 points and Scoot Henderson added 20, but the Trail Blazers fell short and now face a battle for a potential play-in spot.

In Oklahoma City, the Thunder dominated the Los Angeles Clippers 128‑110 to secure the best regular-season record in the NBA for the third consecutive year. Chet Holmgren tallied 30 points and 14 rebounds, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander contributed 20 points and 11 assists.

The Clippers, already in a play-in position, were unable to match OKC’s efficiency despite efforts from Kawhi Leonard and Kobe Sanders.

The Phoenix Suns defeated the Dallas Mavericks 112‑107 in a crucial matchup, clinching the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference play-in tournament. Devin Booker led the Suns with 37 points and nine assists, while Dillon Brooks added 28 points. Dallas received contributions from John Poulakidas (23 points) and Marvin Bagley III (20 points), but they could not overcome the Suns’ late-game execution, extending their losing streak.

These results highlight a tense finish to the regular season as teams vie for playoff seeding. Oklahoma City and San Antonio secure high seeds and home-court advantage, while Denver and Phoenix continue their strong runs. Meanwhile, Memphis, Portland, Dallas, and Los Angeles must regroup quickly to maintain playoff hopes.
