Stephen Curry Sets NBA Three-Point Record in Warriors' Win Over 76ers

Posted : 03 January 2025

Stephen Curry set a remarkable NBA record as the Golden State Warriors secured a dominant 139-105 win over the Philadelphia 76ers. The 36-year-old star made all eight of his three-point attempts, finishing the game with 30 points and 10 assists. This achievement made Curry the first player in NBA history to go at least eight-for-eight from beyond the arc while also recording double-digit assists in the same game. The previous record for most three-pointers without a miss was held by Latrell Sprewell, who went nine-for-nine in 2003.

The Warriors' victory improved their season record to 17-16, while the 76ers dropped to 13-19. Jonathan Kuminga played a key role off the bench, contributing 20 points, and teammates Draymond Green, Andrew Wiggins, and Dennis Schroder each added 15 points. Curry's stellar performance helped solidify his legacy as one of the greatest shooters in the league's history.

In other NBA action, the defending champions, the Boston Celtics, edged out the Minnesota Timberwolves 118-115 in a close contest. Meanwhile, LeBron James led the Los Angeles Lakers to a 114-106 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers, scoring 38 points and adding eight assists. Max Christie also played a significant role, posting a career-high 28 points in the win.

Elsewhere, the Oklahoma City Thunder extended their lead in the Western Conference with a 116-98 win over the LA Clippers. The Brooklyn Nets triumphed 113-110 over the Milwaukee Bucks, and the Indiana Pacers defeated the Miami Heat 128-115. Meanwhile, Detroit Pistons guard Jaden Ivey underwent successful surgery on a broken fibula and is expected to miss most of the remainder of the season.
