Stephen Curry Becomes First NBA Player to Reach 4,000 Three-Pointers

Posted : 14 March 2025

Stephen Curry reached another historic milestone, becoming the first player in NBA history to make 4,000 three-pointers during the Golden State Warriors' 130-104 victory over the Sacramento Kings. Already the league’s all-time leader in three-pointers, Curry needed just two more to reach the landmark and achieved it in the third quarter at Chase Center.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr praised the 37-year-old’s achievement, likening his movement on the court to that of a ballerina, calling his shooting ability "mesmerizing" and a form of "art." A tribute played on the arena’s big screen to celebrate the feat, marking yet another chapter in Curry’s storied career.

Curry originally became the NBA’s all-time leader in three-pointers in 2021 when he surpassed Ray Allen’s record of 2,973 at Madison Square Garden. Reflecting on his latest accomplishment, he admitted that reaching 4,000 was never something he considered possible when he first broke the record.

However, his relentless shooting ability has continued to redefine expectations. The four-time NBA champion holds multiple three-point shooting records, including the longest streaks for consecutive regular-season games with at least one three-pointer made, at 268 and 157 games, respectively.

With their latest win, the Warriors extended their winning streak to six games and currently sit sixth in the Western Conference, while the Kings dropped to ninth. Curry finished the game, which came just a day before his 37th birthday, with 11 points and five assists.

While his record appears untouchable for now, Los Angeles Clippers guard James Harden sits second on the all-time three-pointers list with 3,120, though he remains far behind Curry’s unprecedented tally.
