Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Leads Unbeaten Thunder to Fifth Straight Win Over Kings

Posted : 29 October 2025
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 31 points as the defending NBA champions, Oklahoma City Thunder, extended their unbeaten run.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander continued his outstanding form to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 107-101 win over the Sacramento Kings, keeping the defending NBA champions unbeaten at the start of the new season. The victory, secured at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma, marks the Thunder’s fifth consecutive win, placing them at the top of the Western Conference standings.

The reigning NBA MVP, Gilgeous-Alexander, delivered another stellar performance with 31 points, maintaining his position as the league’s joint-leading scorer this season with 143 points. Despite trailing by three points entering the fourth quarter, the Thunder surged ahead in the closing minutes, taking the lead with just over two minutes remaining and holding firm to seal the victory.

“We did what it took to win,” Gilgeous-Alexander said after the game, reflecting the team’s composure under pressure. The Thunder will next host the Washington Wizards on Friday, while the Kings travel to face the Chicago Bulls on Thursday.

In other NBA action, Giannis Antetokounmpo delivered a dominant performance to guide the Milwaukee Bucks to a 121-111 comeback victory over the New York Knicks at Fiserv Forum. The Bucks overturned a 14-point deficit, with Antetokounmpo scoring 23 of his 37 points in the second half, fueling the team’s third win of the season.

Bucks head coach Doc Rivers confirmed that Kevin Porter Jr. missed his third straight game and will remain sidelined for some time. “We’re not going to rush him because we don’t want this to become chronic,” Rivers said. “It was a bad turn, so we just want to be patient.”

Elsewhere, the Philadelphia 76ers extended their perfect start to 4-0 after edging the Washington Wizards 139-134 in overtime. The Golden State Warriors also impressed with a convincing 98-79 win over the Los Angeles Clippers in San Francisco, while the Miami Heat overwhelmed the Charlotte Hornets 144-117 on home court.
