2025 NBBF Premier League Final 4: Rivers Hoppers Set to Face Lagos Legends in Epic Final

All is set for the grand finale of the 2025 Nigeria Men’s Premier Basketball League as the Final Four concludes on Sunday. The opening game of Matchday 3 will see Nigeria Customs Basketball Club face Gboko City Chiefs Basketball Club at 3 pm, a contest primarily for pride for both sides.

On Saturday, during Matchday 2 of the Final Four series in Port Harcourt, Gboko City Chiefs put up a determined performance against Lagos Legends Basketball Club after losing their first game to defending champions Rivers Hoppers. However, their valiant efforts were not enough as the more determined Lagos side secured a 62–49 victory.

The second game of the day featured Rivers Hoppers against Nigeria Customs in a match filled with nonstop singing and dancing from the home fans. Spurred on by their supporters, the Kingsmen started strong but soon found themselves on the back foot as the Borderlords applied relentless pressure. Rivers Hoppers ultimately prevailed 77–45 in the fourth quarter, showcasing their experience and composure.

With a coveted Basketball Africa League (BAL) ticket at stake, Lagos Legends aim to repeat their earlier victory over Rivers Hoppers, who had their unbeaten streak dating back to November 2022 broken in an 80–79 thriller during this year’s Final 8 series. The highly anticipated final kicks off at 5 pm in an electrifying stadium atmosphere.

Meanwhile, Rivers Hoppers are favorites to claim a three-peat and secure a return to the BAL, where they finished third last year. Speaking ahead of the final matches, Coach Ogoh Odaudu of the Hoopers praised the quality and tactical discipline of the four participating teams, while confidently expressing his team’s determination to retain the Nigeria Men’s Premier Basketball League title.
