The Indiana Pacers have advanced to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2000 after a convincing 125-108 victory over the New York Knicks in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Pascal Siakam led the charge with 31 points and three blocks, earning him the series MVP title.
The Pacers took the series 4-2, with Siakam scoring over 30 points in three of their four wins. They will now face the Western Conference champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder, in a Finals matchup set to begin on Thursday.
Siakam, who previously won a championship with the Toronto Raptors in 2019, reflected on the journey and expressed deep appreciation for returning to the Finals. He acknowledged the difficulty of the path, noting how much he has grown since his earlier title run.
Indiana head coach Rick Carlisle praised Siakam’s steady presence throughout the season, calling him "so deserving" of the MVP recognition. Tyrese Haliburton also delivered a standout performance, finishing with 21 points, 13 assists, and three steals, while Obi Toppin contributed 18 points off the bench.
Despite a close start, with Indiana leading by just one point after the first quarter and four at halftime, the Pacers seized control in the third quarter, starting with a 9-0 run that stifled New York’s momentum.
OG Anunoby led the Knicks with 24 points and Karl-Anthony Towns added 22, but their efforts were hampered by 18 turnovers. Haliburton emphasized the team’s determination, recalling last year’s disappointment and highlighting the group’s hard work to return to this stage.
