Nigeria's 3x3 basketball team has stepped up preparations for the 2026 Commonwealth Games with a training camp in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, as the countdown to the multi-sport event enters its final two weeks.
Led by D'Tigers star Ike Nwamu, the team is using the overseas camp to fine-tune tactics and improve match fitness ahead of the Games in Glasgow, Scotland.
As part of their build-up, the Nigerian side will play two international friendly matches in Amsterdam before departing for Glasgow.
Preparations are also gathering momentum across Team Nigeria, with several foreign-based athletics stars expected to join the contingent in the United Kingdom in the coming days.
Among the athletes due to link up with the team are Kanyinsola Ajayi, Tobi Amusan, Samuel Ogazi, and Ezekiel Nathaniel, alongside other members of the Nigerian athletics squad.
More than 75 Nigerian athletes are currently in camp in Aberdeen, Scotland, where they are undergoing final training sessions before moving to Glasgow for the opening ceremony of the 2026 Commonwealth Games, now just 14 days away.
The overseas training programme reflects Team Nigeria's determination to arrive at the Commonwealth Games in peak condition as athletes across different sports complete their final preparations for the competition.
