NBBF Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball Premier League: Plateau Rocks Build Momentum With Second Straight Win

Plateau Rocks are gathering momentum in the Savannah Conference of the NBBF Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball Premier League after securing their second consecutive victory with a 66–56 win over Nasarawa Amazons on Wednesday.

The Rocks produced a controlled performance from the opening whistle, combining aggressive attacking play with determined defence to keep the Amazons at bay throughout the Day 4, Phase 2 encounter.

The Plateau side maintained its composure under pressure and displayed strong teamwork as they closed out the 10-point victory.

The win further strengthens the team’s confidence as the Mutfwang girls look to build a winning run in the second phase of the competition.

Plateau State Basketball Association Chairman, Dr Chollom Paul Lomak, praised the players and technical crew for their commitment and resilience.

He also acknowledged the support of the Plateau State Government, saying its backing has continued to motivate the team and contribute to the development of basketball in the state.

“We sincerely appreciate the Plateau State Government for its consistent support to Plateau Rocks and sports development in Plateau.

“The government backing continues to inspire the girls to fly the Plateau flag high,” Lomak said.

Plateau Rocks will have little time to celebrate the victory as they return to action on Thursday against The Titans at noon in their Day 5 fixture.

The team will be aiming to make it three consecutive wins and further consolidate its position in the Savannah Conference.
