MFM Face IGP Queens as Atlantic Conference Race Heats Up

MFM will put their perfect record on the line today when they face IGP Queens in a crucial Round 6 encounter of the Nigeria Women’s Premier Basketball League at the Indoor Sports Hall of the Lagos National Stadium.

The Olukoya Babes, the only unbeaten side in the Atlantic Conference, will take on IGP Queens in the final game of the day, scheduled for 4 p.m., with a sixth consecutive victory firmly in their sights.

MFM have been in devastating form since the start of the campaign, with several of their victories coming by convincing margins. Their impressive scoring run has raised expectations ahead of their meeting with IGP Queens, who face a daunting task against the conference leaders.

The day’s action will begin at 10 a.m. with Bayelsa Blue Whales taking on First Deep Waters, before Royal Aces battle Victoria Queens at noon.

Victoria Queens will enter their encounter with Royal Aces full of confidence after producing one of the biggest results of the previous matchday, stunning perennial champions First Bank on Game Day 5.

First Bank, meanwhile, will have an immediate opportunity to respond to that setback when they face defending champions Dolphins later in the day. The Elephant Girls will be determined to return to winning ways against the title holders and strengthen their position in the standings.

MFM currently lead the Atlantic Conference with five wins from five games, while First Bank occupy second position and Victoria Queens sit third.

With the competition entering another decisive phase, the unbeaten MFM will be aiming to extend their dominance, while their closest challengers seek to close the gap at the top.
