Mavericks Reward Naji Marshall with $52.2 Million Contract Extension

Dallas Mavericks forward Naji Marshall has been rewarded for his breakout performances with a new three-year, $52.2 million contract extension that will keep him with the franchise through the 2029-30 NBA season. The extension is fully guaranteed, underscoring Dallas' belief in the versatile forward as a key part of the team's long-term plans.

The Mavericks officially announced the extension on Sunday, although the financial details were not disclosed by the club. Marshall's new deal comes just two years after he joined Dallas on a three-year, $27 million free-agent contract in 2024, highlighting the significant rise in his value following his impressive development with the team.

Marshall, 28, enjoyed the best season of his NBA career in 2025-26, posting career highs in points, assists, field-goal percentage, and steals while taking on an expanded role in the Mavericks' rotation. He averaged 15.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.1 steals while shooting 51 percent from the field in 74 games.

The 6-foot-6 forward also showed significant growth as a scorer, recording six 30-point games during the season after having only two such performances prior to last year. Since arriving in Dallas, Marshall has averaged more than 14 points per game while shooting above 50 percent from the field, a notable improvement from his four seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans, where he averaged fewer than eight points per game.

Marshall's efficiency in the mid-range was another standout feature of his campaign. He was one of only three NBA players to make at least 100 floaters last season, joining All-NBA guards Donovan Mitchell and Jalen Brunson in that category. His ability to score in a variety of ways and contribute on both ends of the floor has made him an increasingly valuable piece for the Mavericks moving forward.
