Knicks Move Within One Win of NBA Championship After Historic Finals Comeback

The New York Knicks are on the verge of ending a 53-year championship drought after securing a dramatic 107-106 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals. The win gives New York a commanding 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series and puts the franchise just one victory away from its first NBA title since 1973.

The Knicks produced one of the most memorable comebacks in Finals history, overcoming a 29-point deficit after trailing 76-49 at halftime. San Antonio appeared firmly in control through the first two quarters, but New York mounted an inspired second-half rally in front of a packed Madison Square Garden crowd.

Jalen Brunson led the comeback effort with 36 points and seven assists, while OG Anunoby added 33 points. Anunoby delivered the decisive moment of the game when he scored the winning basket with just 1.2 seconds remaining, completing the largest comeback ever recorded in an NBA Finals game.

The Spurs were led by Victor Wembanyama, who finished with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Despite their dominant first-half performance, San Antonio struggled to contain New York’s momentum after the break and ultimately surrendered a game that seemed well within their grasp.

The series has been closely contested throughout. New York claimed the opening game before San Antonio responded with a victory in Game 3. However, the Knicks’ dramatic Game 4 triumph has shifted the balance firmly in their favor as they seek to capture a long-awaited championship.

The Finals now move to San Antonio for Game 5, where the Knicks will have their first opportunity to clinch the title. The Spurs, meanwhile, must win three consecutive games to keep their championship hopes alive and complete a remarkable comeback of their own.

With the Knicks carrying significant momentum and their fans dreaming of a historic triumph, Game 5 is set to be one of the most important nights in franchise history.
