Knicks, LeBron and Lakers Headline 2026 NBA Cup Opener

The NBA has announced the full group-stage schedule for the 2026 Emirates NBA Cup, with the competition set to begin on October 30. The opening night will feature two major matchups, as reigning champions the New York Knicks visit the Philadelphia 76ers and LeBron James, while the Los Angeles Lakers travel to face the Golden State Warriors.

The Knicks will begin their title defence against Philadelphia before meeting the Indiana Pacers on November 13 and the Miami Heat on November 27. New York won the NBA Cup and NBA championship last season, making them the first team to claim both trophies in the same campaign.

Group-stage games will be played primarily on Fridays through November 27, with additional fixtures scheduled for November 24 and 25. The top team from each group and one wild-card team from each conference will advance to the knockout rounds, with the quarterfinals scheduled for December 4-5 and the semifinals for December 8-9.

The 2026 NBA Cup final will take place at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on December 11, marking a change from the tournament's previous championship venue in Las Vegas.
