Knicks Executive Gersson Rosas Departs After Helping Build Championship Team

New York Knicks senior vice president of basketball operations Gersson Rosas is leaving the franchise after four seasons, bringing an end to a successful spell in the organization's front office.

Rosas joined the Knicks in 2022 after previous executive roles with the Houston Rockets and Minnesota Timberwolves, and became a key figure in helping construct the roster that captured the NBA championship in June.

Working alongside team president Leon Rose and senior adviser William "Worldwide Wes" Wesley, Rosas played an important role in shaping New York's basketball operations.

He was promoted to senior vice president after initially arriving as a consultant, contributing to personnel decisions that helped transform the Knicks into title winners.

Rosas hinted at his departure through a post on social media, where he shared a photo with Rose and Wesley alongside a message celebrating the team's accomplishments.

In the post, he reflected on helping bring a championship back to New York and described the achievement as the successful conclusion of the organization's journey before stating that he was moving on to the next chapter of his career.

Although neither the Knicks nor Rosas has announced what comes next, his exit marks the loss of a respected executive who was instrumental in the franchise's recent success.

His departure comes as New York prepares to defend its NBA title, with the front office now set to continue without one of the architects of its championship-winning roster.
