NBA legend Kevin Durant has become a minority shareholder in Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain, the club confirmed on Friday. The investment is part of a strategic partnership between Durant and Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), PSG’s controlling shareholder.
While financial details remain confidential, the deal marks a significant collaboration that aims to combine Durant’s global brand and business expertise with PSG’s ambitions to grow across multiple sports and international markets.
Durant, a two-time NBA champion and four-time Olympic gold medalist, will work through his media and investment company, Boardroom, to help PSG shape its multi-sport vision. This includes advising on potential expansion into basketball, aligning with broader discussions involving the NBA and FIBA about launching a new European league. The club emphasized Durant’s role in creating content, pursuing commercial ventures, and supporting PSG’s development strategy in the U.S. and globally.
Calling the investment a “privilege,” Durant expressed his admiration for Paris and PSG, saying he is excited to be involved in the next chapter of the club’s growth. PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi highlighted the partnership as a step toward launching “ambitious initiatives” that would advance the club’s global footprint and innovation across sports and media.
