Jalen Brunson’s 32 Points Propel Knicks to Victory, Keep Eastern Conference Finals Alive

Posted : 30 May 2025

Jalen Brunson led the New York Knicks with 32 points as they secured a crucial 111-94 victory over the Indiana Pacers, keeping their hopes alive in the Eastern Conference Finals. With the win, the Knicks narrowed their series deficit to 3-2 in the best-of-seven matchup, putting pressure back on Indiana as the Pacers remain just one win away from the NBA Finals.

Despite battling through a knee injury, Karl-Anthony Towns delivered a strong performance, contributing 24 points and 13 rebounds while the Knicks maintained control throughout the game. “It was a do-or-die game five,” Towns said, emphasizing the urgency for New York to bring maximum effort. His first-half dominance helped the Knicks build a lead of 56-45 at halftime, which they extended to 90-73 by the end of the third quarter.

The Pacers fought back late in the game, narrowing the gap to 12 points with just over eight minutes left. However, the Knicks responded quickly, with Josh Hart scoring back-to-back baskets and Mikal Bridges adding a jumper to push the lead back out to 18 points. Bennedict Mathurin was a bright spot for Indiana, scoring 23 points and grabbing nine rebounds off the bench.

Indiana star Tyrese Haliburton, who had a standout performance in Game 4 with 30 points and 15 assists, struggled to find his rhythm, managing only eight points and six assists on Thursday. Reflecting on his performance, Haliburton acknowledged the need to improve, saying, “I’ve got to be better setting the tone... I feel I didn’t do a great job of that.” The Pacers now head home for Game 6, where Haliburton and his teammates must bounce back to avoid elimination.
