Gilgeous-Alexander Leads Thunder Comeback to Level NBA Finals Against Pacers

Posted : 14 June 2025

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander delivered a commanding performance with 35 points as the Oklahoma City Thunder rallied in the final quarter to secure a 111-104 victory over the Indiana Pacers, tying the NBA Finals at 2-2.

The Thunder overcame a seven-point deficit at the start of the fourth quarter and closed the game with a dominant 12-1 run in the final three minutes at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Gilgeous-Alexander, the league’s Most Valuable Player, emphasized the urgency of the moment, saying, “I didn’t want to go down not swinging.”

Thunder coach Mark Daigneault’s decision to alter his star player’s rest pattern paid off, as Gilgeous-Alexander was on the court during the decisive closing stretch. He scored 15 of the Thunder’s final 16 points and was perfect from the free-throw line, converting all 10 of his attempts.

Jalen Williams added 27 points and seven rebounds, while Alex Caruso chipped in 20 points off the bench. The Thunder’s defensive intensity in the fourth quarter also limited Indiana to just 17 points, stifling their offense when it mattered most.

The Pacers had led 101-97 with under four minutes to play, but failed to execute down the stretch. Pascal Siakam led Indiana with 20 points, while Tyrese Haliburton added 18. “We just didn’t execute at the end of the game,” Siakam admitted. “We missed the easy shots, and they made theirs.” With momentum swinging back toward Oklahoma City, the NBA Finals now shift to a pivotal Game 5, with both teams seeking the upper hand in a tightly contested series.
