Final Rosters Confirmed for 2026 Basketball Africa League Sahara Conference in Rabat

Posted : 22 April 2026

The Basketball Africa League (BAL) has finalized the official rosters for the upcoming 2026 Sahara Conference. This elite continental competition will be held at the Salle Moulay Abdellah in Rabat, Morocco. The tournament is scheduled to run from Friday, April 24, through Sunday, May 3, 2026.

Six powerhouse clubs from across the continent will battle for supremacy in the Moroccan capital. The participating teams include defending champions Al Ahly SC of Egypt and the local favorites FUS Rabat. Joining them are Senegal's ASC Ville de Dakar, Tunisia's Club Africain, Cote d'Ivoire’s JCA Kings, and Nigeria's Maktown Flyers.

The stakes are high for all involved during this intensive group stage. The top four finishing teams from the Sahara Conference will earn qualification for the 2026 BAL Playoffs. Those final rounds are currently slated to take place in Kigali, Rwanda, later this year.

Al Ahly SC enters the fray with a deep squad led by veteran guards Ehab Amin and Zachary Lofton under head coach Linos Gavriel. They face stiff competition from a reinforced FUS Rabat team. The Moroccan hosts have included key playmakers like Will Perry and Abdoulaye Harouna to bolster their home-court advantage.

Senegal's ASC Ville de Dakar has secured the services of former NBA player Axel Toupane and veteran big man Ater Majok. Meanwhile, the Maktown Flyers from Nigeria will look to make an impact with a roster featuring Bright Akhuetie and Tyrell Corbin. Club Africain and JCA Kings have also finalized balanced squads consisting of local talent and international imports.

Coaches have emphasized the physical and tactical demands of this condensed tournament format. Every game in Rabat will be crucial for seeding and playoff aspirations. Fans expect a high level of competition as these rosters represent some of the finest basketball talents currently playing on the African continent.
