Devin Booker Hits Buzzer-Beater to Lead Suns Past Thunder 108-105

Posted : 05 January 2026

Devin Booker calmly delivered in the clutch as the Phoenix Suns rallied past the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder, 108-105, on Sunday.

With 8.2 seconds left and the game tied, Jalen Williams had just tied the score, but Booker knew the ball would be in his hands after the timeout. Stepping into the moment, the Suns star launched a step-back 3-pointer over Alex Caruso and a late double-team from Luguentz Dort, securing the victory.

The basket marked Booker’s ninth career game-winning shot in the final five seconds of the fourth quarter or overtime, placing him just behind DeMar DeRozan (11) since entering the league in 2015-16.

He finished with 24 points, orchestrating the play with poise as he dribbled from near half-court, crossed over between his legs, and elevated for the shot. Oklahoma City’s Ajay Mitchell missed a rushed 3-pointer at the buzzer, sealing the win for the Suns.

Phoenix overcame an 18-point deficit in a statement performance against the Thunder, who had dominated the Suns in previous matchups, including a 49-point blowout in the NBA Cup quarterfinals without Booker.

Reserve guard Jordan Goodwin starred in the comeback, scoring a career-high 26 points, connecting on 8-of-13 from beyond the arc, and benefiting from Booker’s vision on four assists. Suns coach Jordan Ott praised Booker’s unselfish leadership, noting that his ability to make the right plays empowered his teammates throughout the game.
